About // History of TSANet
Formed in 1993 as a Not-For-Profit, TSANet was primarily the focus of several founding IT vendors. Novell, Inc. known for its successful vendor-centric support alliance in the 1980's did the initial funding along with 10 other sponsor members which created the initial emphasis and focus for the alliance.
Starting as a single base level many-to-many group relationship, TSANet grew to 60 members by 1996 and 100 members by 1998. In 1995, TSANet Europe, Ltd. was founded as a separate organization with 10 sponsor members. Members began joining into the APAC region in 1999. TSANet now has members on all continents and has truly transformed itself into a global alliance for its members. TSANet now maintains trademarks in several countries in Africa, North America, South America, Europe (Inside and outside of the EU), Australia, Japan and several other countries in the Pacific-Rim area.
With momentum growing, this member-driven organization changed its traditional vendor centric model to include different types of relationships and expand to involve channel partners, resellers and integrators. TSANet also provided a global mission critical relationship and was used to create a collaboration mechanism in the 911 tragedy within hours that involved many key technology partners supporting customers in the affected areas. The expansion of the relationship model allowed members to utilize TSANet in several different types of relationships including engineering-to-engineering, relationships centered around both customers and products. The acceptance of the model into nearly all major IT industry organizations has transformed TSANet into an "infrastructure" used to quickly and efficiently create collaborative relationships. The growth of the number of members and types of relationships continues to today.
TSANet is now considered a global industry standard infrastructure that many companies prefer as opposed to creating individual CSAs. TSANet members are always looking to expand and find innovative ways to create collaborative mechanisms and in 2007, created a Partner Program service that is expected to quickly gain momentum as a fast track path to on-board multiple partners and create a one-to-one relationship between manufactures and their partners.
In 2009, TSANet completed its globalization project and moved existing TSANet Europe members to the new TSANet. Additionally, new members now join into the new global TSANet. Existing members in the Americas and APAC areas are expected to begin moving their memberships in 2009 and 2010.
