2007 Member Meeting - Las Vegas, Nevada
Treasure Island Hotel and Casino
Meeting Review
On April 25th, TSANet members gathered in the Mecca of gamblers paradise for a three-day event to learn,
give feedback and direction about TSANet and network with their peers
Based on feedback from last year's meeting, we kicked off the meeting with a choice of three breakout
sessions and then repeated so attendees had an option to hear two topics.
- ROI of TSANet - Mark Valenzuela (Sun)
- Intranet Interface - Marguerite Bryan (HP) & Hunter Donald (Microsoft)
- TSANet Community Model Basics - Dennis Smeltzer (TSANet)
After lunch, Marguerite Bryan (HP) gave an excellent presentation on "internal of marketing TSANet"
followed by our keynote speaker from CA, Rob McCabe, on "Multivendor Collaboration".
The first day of the meeting was designed to get new people up-to-speed on TSANet and also provide
those more experienced users an opportunity to learn even more about the latest happenings at TSANet.
Later that afternoon, Leigh Darby (TSANet Europe) presented on "standards within TSANet".
Ending Day One, all attendees enjoyed a buffet dinner at Treasure Island, followed by the fantastic
production show "Mystre" by Cirque du Soleil.
On Day Two, the focus was on more detail as two presenters Theresa Hansen (Symantec) and Madhu Bramharouthu (Intel)
presented their use of TSANet in Closed Group partner programs. On a similar theme, Jill Scola (EMC) presented some
new concepts and ideas for partner programs and then moderated a panel for attendees to ask specific questions.
Prior to the lunch break, Dennis Smeltzer (TSANet) presented on the mechanics of Closed Group formation.
Summer Maynard (Red Hat) got attendees to think outside of the box and the TSANet world with a Design Thinking course.
Her session provided attendees concepts and theory behind Design Thinking and a real world example where attendees had
an opportunity to try out their new skills. Dave Crowther (Novell) and Dave Walden (TSANet) presented the updates and
structure for the new web site, which includes more of an individual design capability and many other features.
At the end of Day Two, attendees enjoyed a relaxed networking opportunity with Cocktails and hors d'uvres
The final Day Three was focused more on business, as members were fully informed on the financial and operational matters of TSANet.
These sessions included regional updates by Alan Honeyman (TSANet APAC) and Leigh Darby (TSANet Europe).
The meeting concluded with a prize give-away, and no one left empty-handed!
